I wanted to photograph the sparrows nestling in the interstices of the thick walls of my house. Rather than the classic view of the bird on a branch, I have chosen to to shoot just as a portraitist does, on a trait of personality or eccentric attitude. And one could believe the birds have played my game and enjoyed it; one of them is actually posing in such an imperial carriage, another is taking the heroic attitude of the bow statue on a ship, one seems like meditating in a campus park, some of them are staring straight though the lens, others are modelling with a prop or with their prey, some of them seem to even smiling...
